Catskill Gallery Association

The Catskill Gallery Association is set in the community that witnessed the birth of American Art in the early 19th century, when painter Thomas Cole made the village his home. His transcendent love for the local landscape created the Hudson River School of Painting which influenced two centuries of artists and attracted international attention.

The CGA is a collection of art galleries, many lining the Main Street of Catskill, New York. The association hosts monthly late night gallery receptions and introductions to art. Their yearly Artist Studio and Gallery Tour, a free event first launched in 2008, has become an anticipated Fall event. The tour highlights some of Catskill’s finest artists and established art galleries..

Galleries at a Glance:: The Galleria Catskill 281 Main Street A seasonal venue closed during the Winter months, the gallery features the works of in-house artist-owners, Edith Marcik and Terence Barrell. The gallery specializes in traditional landscape style and features the works of other talented contemporary artists as well. Greene County Council on the Arts 398 Main St, Catskill The long-standing, not-for-profit council on arts is an organization that provides information and services to artists, arts organizations, cultural and educational institutions, civic groups, community agencies and the general public.
