Dance With the Green Fairy on March 15!

The Catskill Gallery Association is pleased to invite you to a very special Saturday Studios program.   Join us as we celebrate two landmarks in art history-the one year anniversary of the founding of the Catskill Gallery Association and the lift on the century-old ban on absinthe!  This potent liquor, made of distillate of wormwood, has long been associated with various art movements in France and America including the Impressionists, the Symbolists and the Decadent movement, who considered the drink a source of inspiration and referred to its effects as "dancing with the green fairy."  Join us for a glass of art history March 15 as participating galleries serve absinthe and artist-inspired cocktails from 6-9 PM on Catskill's historic Main Street!

M Gallery

After the Ball”, a limited edition, is the first in a series by award-winning artist, Patrick Milbourn, and will be unveiled at M Gallery in Catskill.  This new work is the theme for this year’s Greene County Council on Arts’ annual fundraising ball.  Milbourn originated the Beaux Arts Ball Poster and his work has appeared on eight posters.  This marks the transition from poster to fine arts reproduction, using archival inks and museum paper. We invite you to a special reception at M Gallery on Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 6:00-8:30pm where the signed giclee print will be offered for sale.  On this date and during the Beaux Arts Ball later this month, a portion of all proceeds will benefit the Greene County Council on Arts.
